Charles I (1625-1649), Tower mint under the King (1625 - 42), Pattern Shilling, Group D/E, attributed to Thomas Rawlins, in silver, mm. portcullis, crowned bust left in collar and armour, both arches of crown unjewelled, rev. Oval scroll-garnished shield between c r, no inner circles, comma stops over partly-erased rosettes, (Sharp D5/E1; N 2698).
