One of the remarkable coins from the fascinating Ellerby Hoard discovery. This 1625 Gold Unite was amongst 41 Charles I coins from the hoard and upon closer scrutiny is a die combination not represented in the J G Brooker Collection. The obverse has a small scuff above value and the fields have a few light surface friction marks, otherwise a bold fine to approaching very fine.
