 Edward VI, fine issue, 1551-53, Halfcrown, 15.47g, 1551, m.m. y, king, crowned and holding sword, riding right on walking horse with plume on head, rev. shield over long cross fourchée (S.2479; N.1934)

A superaltive example of this first halfcrown of the Britihs series . Deeply toned and well balanced with a very pleasing horseman. Overall Good Very fine.

In May 2024 a similar example renowned as the finest known was auctioned in Zurich, Switzerland by Numismatic Ars Classica NAC AG & CNG as a part of the Geoffery Cope Collection, which sold for 70,000 CHF hammer
