1813 George III Half Guinea (S.3737)
£1,650
George III 1813, (1760-1820), 'Garter' Half-Guinea, seventh laureate head, rev. crowned Garter shield, edge obliquely milled, (S.3737; EGC 859; MCE 448)
This the last year a Half guinea was minted and this in our opinion a brilliant specimen and most suitable for TPG. This coin features the "Military" style bust and has a pleasing prooflike quality with contrasting cameo portrait. Overall a superb GEF and the perfect complement to the highly sought after Military Guinea of the same date that was minted for the Duke of Wellingtons army who at the time were in the Pyrennes.
