Charles I (1625-1649), Tower Mint under the King, "Fine work" Shilling, Group D, Type 3.1, fourth crowned bust left, value behind, rev. CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO, no stops, crowned and garnished shield dividing C-R, 5.93g, 6h, m.m. harp 1632-1633 (S.2789; N.2223; Sharp D1/1; Brooker 471 same dies)
Rich dark cabinet tone, of beautiful neat workmanship, a pleasing very fine + the weakness on the kings face is from strike and corresponds with the soft area on the Irish harp in the shield on the reverse. Very rare with a provenance dating back to 1914.
